Choubaka on the Grande Pointe trail

🌿 Choubaka takes us to the discovery of the Grande Pointe trail on the coast of the municipality of Trois-Rivières. A course steeped in history that gives the opportunity to see including military works of the eighteenth century (battery and powder magazine), the ruins of a sugar house, a windmill (the only one on the island of Basse-Terre ) and pre-Columbian petroglyphs, rudimentary drawings of faces and silhouettes carved into volcanic rock by the Arawak Indians, dating back to the fourth century AD. This walk, between land and sea, offers a beautiful view of the archipelago of Saintes and also allows to explore a mesophilous forest (semi-humid) dotted by a waterfall, a wild beach (Anse des Galets), processions cassava ants, termite mounds and many species of trees such as “cabbage pikan” palms (with 10 cm long spines), cursed figs, pear trees, wild cherries, seagrass grapes, shrubs ti-coco, etc …
